Good Shepherd Phuket Town Care for Migrant Children

Give the Gift of Education

In light of the ongoing impact of the Myanmar conflict and the COVID pandemic, we kindly ask for your support in providing education and support to a growing number of migrant children in need. Presently, our school serves over 250 children, and as the demand continues to rise, we urgently require a new school building that can accommodate an additional 150 students in grades 1-4.

Thank you for helping us to Save the Playground’s Land

We are delighted to announce that, with the generous support of our donors, volunteers, activists, and participants, we have successfully completed our fundraising campaign to purchase the land for our school playground. We are deeply grateful for your contributions, and we are excited to say that we can now keep a safe and enjoyable space for our students to play.

However, we are still faced with another urgent need. Our school needs more space for our growing student population, and we are currently fundraising to build new kindergarten classrooms. With your continued support, we hope to create an environment where our students can learn, play, and grow to their full potential.

Thank you again for making the dream of a new playground land a reality, and we hope that you will continue to support our efforts to provide the best possible education for our students.

We try to give them a chance for a better life

After closing for more than six months due to COVID-19 regulations, GSPT school was finally allowed to reopen in January 2022, starting with Youth Group and Grade 4. By March 2022, we had all our students from Kindergarten to Youth Group back on campus.

Since 2010, The Good Shepherd Phuket Town has been a solitary beacon of hope for the poor in slum areas around the fishing port in Phuket Town. Living in inhumane, unsanitary conditions in squalid encampments, many fall prey to unscrupulous employers in the construction industry or Human Trafficking.

Through love & education, the GSPT is able to break the cycle of extreme poverty & give them hope for the future.
This program is under the direction of The Good Shepherd Home Foundation, a worldwide Catholic Non-Profit Organisation.

How you can help us?

OUR PROGRAMS

Education program

At birth, most migrant children are refused official recognition from the Thai authorities. The children are at constant risk from labour and sexual exploitation. Unable to access any form of education or healthcare, they are unable to break this cycle of extreme poverty

Health Care Program

Many migrants do not have any access to medical help. Good Shepherd conducts weekly visits to 20 slum areas by a qualified nurse providing urgent medical care & medicine, especially to children with serious illness and pregnant women.

Empowerment Program

Underprivileged women are trained in various skills from natural soap making, hair dressing, sewing to baking classes. Using these skills, they are able to break the cycle of poverty.
“Education is a human right with immense power to transform”
