Happy Songkran Festival Celebration 2023!

Happy Songkran 2023! We are so excited to celebrate the Thai New Year together for the first time since the pandemic lockdowns and would love to share the festive spirit with everyone!

Songkran is a time of renewal and rebirth, and it marks the beginning of the traditional Thai New Year. The holiday has its roots in ancient Buddhist traditions, where water was used to cleanse and purify both the body and the soul. It is also a time to pay respect to elders and ask for blessings.

During Songkran, people splash water on each other as a way to symbolize the cleansing and purification of the past year's sins and misfortunes. It's a joyful time where kids and adults alike can let loose and have fun.

At Good Shepherd Phuket Town, we celebrate this special occasion with our children, staff, and volunteers. We share traditional Thai dishes and enjoy the fun and laughter of the water fights. Our kids particularly love this holiday and look forward to it every year.

As we celebrate this joyful occasion, we want to wish you and your loved ones a happy and blessed Thai New Year. We also want to thank you for your continued support of our mission to help vulnerable children in Phuket. Your support allows us to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow and thrive.

This year, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have helped us in preserving the children's playground. With your support and assistance, the kids were able to enjoy their time outdoors, engage in various activities, have their meals, and celebrate together.

Happy Songkran and may this new year bring you joy, prosperity, and good health!
